Cycling on Blackbog Road, which is part of a series of quiet country roads between Palacerigg and Moodiesburn.
An assortment of barriers at the entrance to Stanrigg Memorial Park, so just as well the gate had been left open!
A single uncontrolled sliproad crossing with 'Cyclists Dismount' signs (see #51057) has been replaced with two uncontrolled sliproad crossings, without signs. No attempt to line up the footway with the crossings.
A split toucan crossing on Townhead Avenue, Eurocentral, with an HGV combo stopped some way forward of the stopline on the far side.
A split toucan crossing across Townhead Avenue at Eurocentral. I don't know which direction the 'Cyclists Dismount' sign applies to. The kid on the bike took no notice of it.
Pinch-point traffic-calming on North Road, Bellshill. The dropped kerbs don't appear to have been thought through to create a half decent crossing for pedestrians.
The farm access road turns south towards the Douglas Support estate woods. A triangular junction with the road to Shawhead Farm.
The reverse view of #99830 shows this access road leads only to this piece of land. The route ahead becomes a cyclepath.
A downhill section on the farm access road and cycle route adjacent to the new M8 motorway. The Showcase foot and cycle bridge can be seen in the distance.
A rough transition to the road at Kirk Place, but a barrier to ensure you don't accidentally cycle down the steps.
Cumbernauld Cycle Network route 4 crosses the B8048 here, then crosses the side road to get to the path to Craiglinn Interchange.
According to my map from the council, the Cumbernauld Cycle Network route 4 turns left here then first right, rather than using the (rather ugly) caged crossing and the direct path to Craiglinn. But no signs.
No signs to say this is a shared-use footway, but according to my map from the council, this is where Cumbernauld Cycle Network routes 4 and 4a are to be found. The roundabout appears to be built on a different plane from the rest of the ... [more]
The road environment in Quarry St. Scope for extending the off-road provision in Holytown to the A723, and to join up with the Ravenscraig route.
The roundabout between Loanhead Road and Glenmore Road has underpasses beneath it, as if it was planned to be part of some larger road scheme.
Crossing of Robberhall Road, which is signed for Edinburgh, so rather more than just a local road. This side is signed here as shared-use, the opposite side is the start of the line-segregated path through the Ravenscraig site to Carfin.
Airbles Road is a busy dual carriageway, hostile to cycling, and yet not even a shared footway, despite room to widen the existing footway along much of the road, and many footway connections to adjacent residential streets.
A toucan crossing outside Airbles station. It does not appear to connect to any actual cycle infrastructure.
Not particularly useful for cycling, since there is a flight of steps behind the camera, but Camp Road does provide a link between residential areas in Airbles.
The NCN75 crosses the Showcase Cinema access road on this zebra crossing without the usual Belisha Beacons or zig-zags.
Painted cycle lanes on Kildrum Road, seen from a footbridge. Behind the camera is a large roundabout and a 50mph zone (see #67682).
